Del Mulanti Ruv

Del Mulanti Ruv or Ghostwolves are legends among the Roma in my books.

My werewolves were not just evil or cursed. They were a race with morals and laws of their own. Different from humans though they had a human form. In human form only their eyes gave them away, they were cognac colored. But with strong emotion those eyes turn topaz with their inner fire so they keep firm control over their emotions. Madness brings out the red in their eyes so those who turn Shilmulo--vampire--show their madness if one looks carefully. They shapeshift into wolves, but they don't eat flesh in that form. The elixir of life, blood, and the energy contain there in is what they consume.  They manipulate energy/matter to change form as well as perform little things that would be considered magic but is really like telekinesis using energy manipulation. Think our favorite sorcerer superhero with regard toward what they could do.

The Ruv live among humans, but have their own code, morals. Their origin was lost in the mists of time and their culture with it as they adopted the manners and language of their Chosen, the Roma, to fit in.

Some things were passed down through the lines, keeping some history alive.  There are universal laws that are taught all Ruv. But for the most part each has their own code, morals, outside those universal laws.

Shilmulo are Ruv who have fallen to the dark side. In other words Ghostwolves turned vampire. They are the truth behind the myths of evil werewolves and vampires. They are hunted down and killed. Such are a danger to both the humans and the Ruv.

The Ruv are generally solitary, though they usually gather into Packs in cities. Alphas rule a territory and the other Ruv bow to his authority, even if they are not part of the Pack. Each Alpha has enforcers, Ruv who enforce the Pack and universal laws. How many enforcers depend upon the size of the territory and Pack. Healers also show up when a Pack is formed and keep the Pack healthy both mentally and physically. Ruv sometimes form mating bonds and thus have family units, but companion bonds are more common. 

Most of this developed after they were Riven.  They know that this is not how they were subconsciously, but have no true memories or knowledge then this.

Companions may be human or Ruv, all that is necessary is mental compatibility and if human Roma blood. Not much is known about companions or Shavora. They are almost always male. The why was lost with their origin and culture. What little is known is passed down through each line and considered sacred. Ruv also have varied relationships with humans that they call Kumpanijas. These Kumpanijas usually know the Ruv secret and help them as is needed. Kumpanijas can be male or female. 

 The Ruv native form is that of a giant wolf. Their secondary form gives them the appearance of a human. They manipulate energy to do this as I mentioned. Most of the Ruv have regular gray wolf coloring, but some have variants. The enforcers are all black, healers are all white, and Alphas are brown. As the regular Ruv age white creeps in on their chests, bellies, and legs. They are not immortal, but they do live a long time.

There are many legends among the Ruv themselves, told to keep what little history they remember alive.
