The legend is that it is The Book of Life. Within its pages is the secrets of the World. How everything came to be and how it will eventually end. And it is said the words change with every decision that is made.
It is also said that whomever has it within their possession can rule the World.
Some humans meanwhile had learned of its existence and sought it. Yet they never found it. Human memory being shorter than Ruv's, its existence became a legend with them, but not totally forgotten.
Truth became twisted as centuries passed. History was distorted and lost after the Ruv were riven. Part of the price for their new life. But legends were still passed on in whispers down the Lines to the Littles, both human and Ruv.
The Le Ratta Lexicul is to the Ruv as the Bible is to humans. From the beginning of the Ruv to the last days it tells about the past, present, and future.
According to one legend it was given to the Oru, a Ruv line, millennia ago for safekeeping and so they could act as Oracles to the Ruv. But another line sought it for themselves so they could rule both humans and Ruv. The Lexicon was lost and the Oru disappeared, leaving behind only two words about the Lexicon's fate.

Though it looks like a book now it was not so when it was first given to the Oru. It changed when the Ruv were transformed and became the Ruv.
