The book is at 20,146 words.
The killer has stepped on another villain's toes. Not a good idea. There will be consequences.
Hanlan has another incredulity to think about, a Mulo. The Ruv version of a ghost.
A Mulo is a Ruv that should not be alive yet is and appears out of seeming thin air. He or she is accorded the respect a human god would receive from followers but is taken warily. They can be tricksters and have their own agendas. A mulengi dori or deadman's string(A knotted cord or ribbon) is often given to a person/being who is under their protection as a sign of that protection and a contract of the deal made for it.
Obsession is a re-occurring theme with me. A lot of villains have obsession toward their idea. They are right, the hero in their minds, and everyone else is misguided, the villains. Some of those we would call heroes are obsessed as well. It is not just a bad trait that villains have.
So expect some obsession to show itself in book 3.
And maybe not only in the villain.
